Moyai Privacy

Last updated: January 17, 2026

Moyai is designed to help people quietly fulfill real needs within trusted communities. Privacy is not a feature layered on top — it is a core design constraint.

This page explains how information is handled in Moyai, in practical terms.

1. Privacy by Design

Moyai is built to minimize disclosure.

  • Wants are private by default
  • There is no public feed or browsing of wants
  • Information is shared only when it is relevant to a potential match
  • Disclosure happens gradually, not all at once

If a want is fulfilled, Moyai has succeeded — regardless of where or how the exchange occurs.

2. What Information Moyai Collects

Moyai collects only what is necessary to coordinate a potential exchange:

  • Account information (such as email address)
  • Wants and gives you create
  • Approximate location (e.g. city / area, not a public address)
  • Information you choose to provide during a match

Moyai does not collect or display unnecessary personal details.

3. How Information Is Shared

Moyai does not publish your information publicly.

Information may be shared only in these situations:

  • When a potential match exists between a want and a give
  • Only with the specific person involved in that match
  • Only to the extent needed to explore whether the match makes sense

There is no global visibility, no search engine indexing, and no social graph.

4. Progressive Disclosure

Disclosure in Moyai is intentional and scoped.

  • A want remains hidden until a credible match exists
  • Details are revealed step-by-step
  • Communication is limited to the context of a specific match

You are never required to proceed.
You may decline or disengage at any time.

5. Location Information

Location is used to support relevant, local matches.

  • Exact addresses are not publicly shown
  • Location visibility is limited to what is necessary for coordination
  • You control whether and how details are shared during an exchange

6. Community Context

Moyai is designed to work within small, trusted communities.

Trust boundaries matter more than reach. Features that would expose information broadly or encourage oversharing are intentionally avoided.

7. Your Control

You remain in control of your participation:

  • You choose what to post
  • You choose whether to engage with a match
  • You may archive wants or gives at any time

Moyai does not require you to complete an exchange within the platform.

8. What Moyai Does Not Do

To be explicit, Moyai does not:

  • Sell your data
  • Show your wants publicly
  • Operate a public marketplace or feed
  • Require messaging with strangers outside a match context
  • Guarantee outcomes or safety

Moyai facilitates coordination — it does not manage or enforce exchanges.

9. Aggregated and De-identified Information

Moyai may analyze information in aggregated or de-identified form to improve the system, understand community needs, or support the development of the service.

This analysis does not expose individual wants, gives, identities, or private details, and is not intended to identify specific people or exchanges.

10. Changes to This Policy

As Moyai evolves, this privacy statement may be updated to reflect changes in the system.

Any changes will continue to prioritize minimal disclosure and user control.
